An Ominous Cloud with a Half-smile

Audio: A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness (1995)

I had kind, soft dreams last night. I remembered them, but I didn’t write them down. That’s part of the pattern and the mood of this week. Not being as good with time, and having to manage the consequences of that and also, remembering dreams when I wake up, but not writing them down and so I don’t have as many souvenirs from the dream world this week as I’d like.

Have you tried to do this? Tried to remember a dream, and you can even “see” the vague outlines of the dream, but you can’t really fill them in with any detail? When I close my eyes, there are literal outlines of forms, but if I don’t have a key word in mind, or a phrase from the dream, they remain that way. Very vague outlines. And then, just as easily as they come, even the outlines can disappear. In the past, I have been able to retrieve dreams, but like I’ve said, it requires a tremendous and focused effort.

Video: Molecular Physicist Visualised The Process of Dying | David Glowacki

This video inspired me to write a poem. I haven’t finished. I feel like I could still polish it, but I love that I’ve been writing poems again.
